NHS group praised for its work

-

EAST Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been nationally recognised for its performance.

The health commissioning body, which is responsible for buying NHS services in the boroughs of Burnley, Hyndburn, Rossendale, Pendle and the Ribble Valley, was praised by NHS England.

Annual assurance ratings for all of the 209 CCGs across the country were published and East Lancashire CCG was rated as ‘good’.

This is thanks to the work taken within the CCG to build on its standing and improve performance against key targets.

A total of 120 CCGs across the country were rated as either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’.

The ratings measure the performance of CCGs in key areas including leadership, financial management and performance.

Mark Youlton, accountable officer at East Lancashire CCG, said: “We are very pleased to have achieved ‘good’ status and to be recognised nationally as one of the CCGs that are performing well.

“By being recognised as ‘good’, we can demonstrate that we have continued to build on the work we are doing.

“The challenges within the NHS are well known, and we are committed to working with partners to continue to find new ways of working that deliver the best services for our patients.

“I would like to take this opportunity thank all of our staff, GPs and partners who have worked hard over the past year.”
