LUKE Blackledge says that Zach Parker has underestimated him ahead of their British title eliminator next month.

The Accrington boxer faces Parker at the Echo Arena on September 16, on the undercard of Callum Smith’s fight with Erik Skoglund in the World Boxing Super Series.

Parker is unbeaten in his career after winning all 12 of his fights since making his debut in 2015, but Blackledge believes he will be far too much for his opponent come fight night.

“Parker has 100% underestimated me by choosing me as his opponent, and I think this is going to be one fight too soon for him,” he said.

“He’s got a proper fight on his hands. And I’m not sure if he’s got the ability to keep me off him for 10 rounds. It’s going to be an absolute war.

“This is a massive opportunity for me to box on such a big stage. This is what boxing is all about for me – taking risky fights and making big statements.

“I could not be happier about getting the chance to box on this huge World Boxing Super Series event.”

Blackledge has a record of 23 wins, four losses and two draws in his career, with his last outing ending in defeat when he came up short against experienced Lolenga Mock in Denmark in June.

Tickets for the event are on sale now priced at £35, £40, £60, £80, £100, £150, £200 and £350 (VIP) via the Liverpool Echo Arena website.
