SKY BET LEAGUE TWO SHELDAN KEAY

BILLY Kee scored a stoppage time winner as Accrington Stanley defeated Mansfield Town at the Wham Stadium on Saturday.

The scores were level at 1-1 after goals from Kayden Jackson and Lee Angol, before Kee netted in the dying seconds of the contest.

Stanley manager John Coleman was pleased to get the win, and felt that Mansfield made things extremely difficult for his team.

“Mansfield will be one of the strongest teams that will come here this season.

“I thought they were excellent and it’s a tough game for us out of the way,” he said.

“They didn’t give us a minute on the ball and they used their strengths. It was a hard fought game that could have could either way.

“The win means we’ve had a reasonable start now by taking six points out of nine, but we know it should be nine points and we should be top. That’s a bit frustrating but we move on.

“There will be games this season where we play miles better than that and lose. I was disappointed with our attacking play but that’s down to Mansfield, they did well and stopped us. In the end though I’m glad to have the win.”

Jackson got the opener for Stanley on 10 minutes when Janoi Donacien’s cross found the striker in the box, who slotted into the bottom corner to score his fourth goal in three games and keep up his good run of form.

Accrington weren’t ahead for long though, as Mansfield got back on level terms after 25 minutes.
