OLGA PILKINGTON

-

MRS Olga Pilkington, of Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully in hospital, aged 88.

Olga started her working life on the family farm. She was a very hard working lady who later went on to run Park View nursing home in Clayton-le-Moors for many years with her husband Allan.

She was a very caring lady who enjoyed looking after others.

Olga retired to Spain because she loved the sunshine but she struggled with the language and there were not enough shops so she came back home.

In her younger years, Olga enjoyed ballroom dancing with Allan and the talented pair won many medals together. She loved baking and made the best rock buns and lemon cheese. She also liked to read Catherine Cookson novels and liked to keep up to date with the soaps. Above all, Olga was a lovely family lady and she was devoted to her grandchildren.

The dearly loved wife of the late Allan, she was much-loved mum of Patricia and Les, dear mother-in-law of Donald and Beryl, a loving grandma of Adele, Ian and Brett and greatgrandma of Molly, Macie and Baxter.

Olga’s funeral service was due to take place at Holy Trinity Church, Oswaldtwistle on Thursday, August 31 at 12.30pm followed by committal at Accrington crematorium at 1.40pm.
