Tiffany glass helps tell story of county

DISCOVER the Tiffany Glass collection at Haworth Art Gallery

HAWORTH Art Gallery is one of the museums which have been selected to be part of a Lancashire-wide project called ‘A History of Lancashire in 70 Objects’.

This is a joint project between Lancashire Life, Heritage Learning Lancashire and Museum Developmen­t North West, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Haworth Art Gallery is represente­d through the story of Joseph Briggs and the Tiffany glass collection he gave to the people of Accrington.

On Sunday, September 10 at 1pm, deputy manager and curator Gillian Berry will be giving a free introducto­ry talk on the story of Joseph Briggs and the Tiffany collection.

After the talk you will be able to tour the Tiffany collection which is on permanent display on the first floor (a lift is available if required).

There is no need to book a place on the talk, but we advise arriving early to secure your seat.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, noon to 4.45pm, Saturday, Sunday noon to 4.15pm, closed all day Monday, free entrance and parking.

The Gallery Kitchen is open for lunch and afternoon tea Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 4.30pm and every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm to 11pm with a delicious bistro menu, telephone 01254 491660 to book a table.
