ACCRINGTON Cricket Club came out on top against neighbours GREAT HARWOOD after picking up a 90run win at Thorneyhol­me Road in the Phase Two B Division.

Accrington won the toss and decided to bat, and finished on 201-6 at the end of their 50 overs.

Great Harwood struggled in reply and finished all out on 111, with Jake Clarke finishing with extremely impressive figures of 7-43.

Accrington are third in the table following the win, while Great Harwood are in fifth.

CHURCH also picked up a dominant win against one of their neighbours after a nine-wicket triumph against RISHTON.

Church decided to field first, and it proved to be a good decision as they bowled Rishton out for just 85.

Church eased to their target in just 19 overs, thanks mainly to an unbeaten 41 from Josh Scully.

Church are in second after the victory, with Rishton in sixth place.

ENFIELD remain top after an eight wicket victory against Colne at Dill Hall Lane.

Enfield decided to field first, and they bowled Colne all out for 141.

They then chased down their total in 30 overs, with Charlie Jackson making 58 in the process.

Elsewhere in the Phase Two B Division, Rawtenstal­l finally ended their poor run of form after they claimed bragging rights against local rivals Bacup with a 22 run victory at the Worswick Memorial Ground.

Rawtenstal­l won the toss and decided to bat first, and went on to finish on 226-6 at the end of their 50 overs, with profession­al Andrew Payne leading from the front and scoring an unbeaten 128 from just 155 balls.

Bacup went close in their reply, thanks mainly to 106 not out from Tim Farragher, but they were eventually bowled all out for 204 and Rawtenstal­l earned the win.

Rawtenstal­l remain rooted to the bottom of the table despite their second win of the campaign, while Bacup are fourth.

In the Phase Two A Division, Haslingden won one and lost one of their two matches over the weekend.

They began things with a victory on Saturday, defeating Lowerhouse by 12 runs at Liverpool Road.

Lowerhouse won the toss and decided to field, with Haslingden finishing on 231-8 at the end of their 50 overs after opener Graham Knowles top scored with 70.

Lowerhouse were then bowled all out for 219 with two balls remaining, with Lewis McIntosh finishing as the pick of the bowlers after he took 3-37 to help Haslingden win.

They came up short on Sunday though after a three-wicket defeat against Nelson at Bentgate.

Haslingden batted first and were 194-9 at the end of their innings, with only Phil Hayes (101) managing to hit any major scores.

Nelson reached the target with nine balls to spare, condemning Haslingden to defeat.

Haslingden are eighth in the Phase Two A Division table after the results.

Ramsbottom had a disappoint­ing 24 hours after losing both of their matches in the Phase Two A Division.

Saturday saw them lose to Clitheroe by eight wickets at Acre Bottom. Ramsbottom were put into bat first, and were bowled all out for 142 despite an unbeaten 99 from profession­al Daryn Smit.

Clitheroe eased to the win, losing just two wickets and reaching their target in 33 overs.

It didn’t get any better for Ramsbottom as they then lost to Burnley by 73 runs at Turf Moor on Sunday.

Burnley made 263-7, and Ramsbottom were bowled out for 190 in response.
