GALLERY CORNER
HAWORTH Art Gallery is thrilled to announce the return of one of Oswaldtwistle’s best known singersongwriters, Dylan Owen who will be performing on Sunday, September 17, at 2pm.
Dylan is a wellestablished and much-loved musician on the north west folk/ acoustic scene.
His songs are quirky, intelligent, daft, moving, poignant, angry, silly – and sometimes just plain surreal.
His music is unique and spans a wide range of styles – from traditional folk ballads, to bluegrass and ragtime-influenced ditties. He writes about the mundane and the everyday, and spins it into the weird and wonderful.
He writes songs about everything from the philosophical musings of goldfish to satirical numbers about the injustice of MPs’ expenses and big bank bonuses.
And don’t get him started on panicking in Poundland having only 99p!
Much of Dylan’s work has been broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC Radio Merseyside and Radio Birmingham and a plethora of other local stations.
He has been referred to as The Oswaldtwistle Bard on a number of outings.
This is a free concert and all donations will go direct to the performers.
We ask that people arrive early to secure a seat.
Drinks and refreshments maybe purchased from the Gallery Kitchen Bar.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from noon to 4.45pm, Saturday, Sunday – noon to 4.15pm, closed all day Monday, free entrance and parking.
