Let’s turn Turf Moor into a fortress again!

KAT LEE’S CLARETS VIEW

INTERNATIONAL duties done for one week, we’re ready to concentrate on the league back at Turf Moor this Sunday. Let’s hope we don’t emulate Republic of Ireland’s poor show against 10 man Serbia with Jon Walters as their skipper, and instead perhaps repeat the last time Crystal Palace came to our place.

Ok maybe not an exact replica of last time, as I’m not sure I can handle going from 2-0 up to 2-2, but Ashley Barnes’s breathtaking last-minute winner was something not a single Claret will forget.

We’re fresh with new season hope, Palace haven’t had the best of starts and I think we have a point to prove about Turf Moor once again being the fortress it was last season. Although, if our history is anything to go by we don’t tend to do well when on TV, and I’m utterly convinced that this season is the one we win all our away games against the ‘giants’ of the league - so watch out Liverpool, we’re coming for you (again).

Personally, I can’t stand waiting until Sunday for a match, but if it means another day for the boys to get their heads into it, so be it. I’d prefer it not to be a show of purely defend defend defend and then moments of magic at the end, but show some of the attack that we definitely have within the squad, especially now Chris Wood is here. We could even give new signing Nahki Wells a chance to see if he fits the bill - remember, always trust Sean Dyche. We could have something really special going with our midfield once we’ve played a few more games.

A win would be ideal even without the drama of last time, just to round off a decent start for us, as nothing is better than getting Turf Moor bouncing.
