Lots of ac­tiv­i­ties planned for ‘Health Week’

FREE health checks, walk­ing days and weight man­age­ment aware­ness road­shows are just some of the ac­tiv­i­ties com­ing to Hyn­d­burn as part of ‘Health Week’.

Mem­bers of Hyn­d­burn Leisure’s ‘Up and Ac­tive Team’ will hit the road be­tween Mon­day, Septem­ber 18, and Sun­day, Septem­ber 24, to pro­mote a range of ses­sions at venues across the bor­ough.

Linda Hors­field, head of health and well­be­ing at Hyn­d­burn Leisure, said: “There’s a fan­tas­tic range of ac­tiv­i­ties avail­able through­out the week, with some­thing for all the fam­ily.”

A weight man­age­ment and phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity aware­ness road­show will be held at the Pals Cen­tre on Par­adise Street in Ac­cring­ton on Mon­day.

A walk­ing group will set off from Hyn­d­burn Leisure Cen­tre at 10.30am on Tues­day and visit Mead­oway Al­lot­ments for a food grow­ing ses­sion.

There will be health check ses­sions at Ad­ven­ture City and out­door fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties on the 3G Pitch at Hyn­d­burn Leisure Cen­tre on Wed­nes­day fol­lowed by free health checks at Tesco in Great Har­wood on Thurs­day.

Health checks will also be car­ried out on Fri­day at the leisure cen­tre and Po­plar Club.
