ATALENTED photographer has been ‘head hunted’ for an exciting new CBeebies television series.

Joanne McGloine, who runs Heartfelt and Cherished Photography in Oswaldtwistle, was chosen by BBC show bosses to appear in an episode which will be aired in the New Year.

The former St Mary Magdalen’s and Moorhead pupil said she was ‘shocked’ to be contacted about taking on a role in the show and found the filming to be an ‘amazing experience’.

She said: “When I got the email at first I thought it was spam. They then asked to call me about it and I started thinking ‘this is real’.

“The researcher from CBeebies said they had been looking at the area and that my work ‘by far stands out’.

“He said we are a family orientated, friendly, and the work is impeccable and would I be interested in working with them?

“I thought it was amazing. It was so complementary to say they found me and almost head hunted me.”

Joanne, 36, said she is not able to reveal the name or details of the show but confirmed that it did involve the filming of a family in her studio and along Union Road.

She said: “A family came to me for a photo shoot. There are reasons behind the photo shoot which will be revealed in January when it airs.

“It was really nice. It’s a brand new show. It’s definitely a two season show and there are 15 episodes in each season so it’s quite a big deal.

“Each episode is a com- pletely different family and has a completely different theme. The filming and the experience of it was amazing. I have never filmed for television before so it was completely new to me.

“I wish I could say more because it’s such a lovely meaning behind the show.”

Joanne, who lives in Oswaldtwistle, has run the business for six years even stepped up plans for a makeover of her studio in time for filming.

She said: “I know they filmed the family walking up Union Road so hopefully, when it is aired, it might bring some more attention to Union Road and Oswaldtwistle.

“It’s a shame because it’s a lovely little place Ossy and it kind of gets bypassed. There are so many different things available and a lovely little place to go shopping. It’s nice for it to get a bit of recognition.” ROSEMERE Cancer Foundation is encouraging people to have a summer wardrobe clearout to raise money for its 20 Years Anniversary appeal.

A 10kg bag of unwanted clothes, shoes and handbags taken to Cash 4 Clothing on Whalley Road, Claytonle-Moors, is worth £4 in cash – which the store will add to its collection box.
