CIVIC ARTS CENTRE
SUMMER is on its way out now and the nights are drawing in, the new events guides are out and we are busy with Halloween preparations!
There are a number of professional shows coming up throughout the month of October, kicking off on Friday, October 6, with A Vision of Elvis, the fantastic and popular Autumn Craft Fair on Saturday 8, and David Holt, the brilliant spirit medium back by popular demand on Friday 13.
We also have a range of community performances and in-house produced shows. Our array of Halloween celebrations begin on Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28, with Dramatic Annie’s production of A Nightmare Before Christmas.
We have sold-out performances of Room on the Broom. We also have A Halloween Party at Hippings Vale Community Centre on Sunday, October 29, and another party and storytime session at the Civic on Tuesday, October 31. We have had so many clubs start this month, both at the Civic and Hippings Vale, and it has been lovely to see the centre getting busier with more things to do for adults in the evenings such as sewing, languages, painting, play readings and creative writing. Also on Monday, October 16, our new monthly book club starts.
We also have some new groups for children, including a new Friday Drama Club which is from 4pm to 5.30pm for ages eight to 14 and a new Baby Messy Play session which runs from 10am to 11am every Friday.
