School shortlisted for two awards
AN Accrington school has been shortlisted for two prestigious titles at the Educate Awards 2017.
Hollins Technology College’s ‘Beyond Labels: In Young Men’s Shoes’ project, which explores young people’s fears, hopes, dreams and identity through powerful live performances, is up for the WOW Recognition Award.
Their ‘Cohesion through Creativity’ programme has also been shortlisted for the Innovation in Education Award. The project gives young people a creative platform to experience different cultures, thoughts and ideas.
Kim O’Brien, founder of the Educate Awards, said: “This year’s shortlist includes schools and colleges of all sizes, from all across the region. So many congratulations to all those shortlisted, it was a very tough job for our judging panel.”
The winners will be announced at the annual awards ceremony, which will take place at Liverpool Cathedral on November 17.
