‘Our four forward players scoring goals – it’s a manager’s dream’
Moments later, the away side were awarded a penalty after Jordan Thorniley took down Jack Taylor inside the box. Campbell-Ryce missed the Bees’ chance to level the scoring after smashing his penalty against the cross-bar and out of play.
Stanley doubled their lead after half-time when a slick pass from Thorniley found Clark, who buried the ball low into the corner of the net, out of the keeper’s reach.
Campbell-Ryce made up for his earlier penalty miss after finishing off a brilliant run from Jack Taylor, to bring the visitors back within reach.
Kee found his 11th goal in all competitions when Clark nipped the ball into him and he smashed a shot from just outside the box, just before the hour mark, to make it 3-1.
Forward Jackson, who made amends for his earlier miss, got the Reds’ fourth with a close range finish, taking his tally to seven for the campaign.
On Jackson, Coleman said: “I was delighted more than anybody that he scored, because his work-rate has warranted that. I know as a striker the longer you go, the more anxious you get. I did have a chat with him before the game today, and I told him not to worry about it, as the goals will come.”
