Reds dedicate win to Jordan

-

ACCRINGTON Stanley dedicated Saturday’s victory over Barnet to Jordan Moseley.

The 15-year-old died suddenly last month and in the first home game since his death, the Academy player’s family and friends were at the Wham Stadium with the club holding a tribute and celebration of his life.

“We have still not got over what’s happened to Jordan and our thoughts are with his family and friends,” Clark told the club’s official website.

“It was a big occasion for us and the pressure was on us to perform for him and you could see how much it meant with the goal celebrations. The win meant a lot to the players and to the fans and it was nice to get the win for him. We wanted to win for him.”

Stanley face Guiseley away in the FA Cup this weekend and then Wigan at home in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday evening before returning to League Two action next weekend with a trip to Cambridge.

Clark believes John Coleman’s side can maintain their push for promotion if they continue to work hard – and if the feedback from opponents is anything to go by, Stanley are a side feared throughout the league.

“A couple of teams, after we have played them – even Stevenage when we lost – have said we are the best team they have played so it’s always nice to hear but you have to keep your feet on the ground and carry on working hard,” said Clark.
