GALLERY CORNER
THE staff of the Haworth Art Gallery would like to take this opportunity to wish all our visitors and readers of this column a very Happy Christmas.
It has been a very busy year, with the development of our wedding packages and group visit packages in conjunction with the Gallery Kitchen. Artists and creatives are also occupying the Stables Block and Motor House Studios now and we’ve had an array of workshops, artist demonstrations and family fun days!
We have also been developing our exhibition and events programme and extended our live music performances and activities for both families and adults. We have also had a very interesting mix of exhibitions this year including Kaleidoscope with Ribble Creative Stitchers and the fabulous summer exhibition ‘Amazing Accrington’ featuring the work of Gerard de Rose which brought the portraits of Morecambe and Wise back together for the first time in 50 years.
Our curator and deputy manager, Gillian Berry has had a very busy time as well this year being filmed for BBC ‘Antiques Road Trip’, lecturing and researching in New York, all of which will be fed into next year’s programme at Haworth Art Gallery.
For details of all 2018 exhibitions and events visit our Facebook page.
After all this activity the Haworth staff are taking a well-earned break from Friday, December 22, and will be throwing open the gallery doors once again on Wednesday, January 3, at noon with another fun-packed programme of exhibitions and events for everyone to enjoy.
Happy Christmas from Yvonne and the staff at the Haworth Art Gallery.
