- JON MACPHERSON

APUB landlady has paid tribute to her ‘loving and caring’ husband after he died from a heart attack, aged 54.

Colin Allonby, of Clarence Road, Accrington, suffered the heart attack at home and passed away in hospital on Wednesday, December 13.

He leaves three children aged 10, seven and five.

His wife Laura, who runs The George pub on Blackburn Road in Accrington, said the pallet yard worker had been feeling ill in the weeks before his death.

Laura, 36, said: “He died of a heart attack and heart disease. He had been ill for a while and was complaining of really bad heartburn.

“He had been to the doctor and was given a referral to see a cardiologist in February but it’s too late now.

“He was at home when it happened and an ambu- lance took him to hospital. It was a shock.”

A keen fisherman, Colin also enjoyed cooking and baking.

Laura added: “He was a loving family man and loved doing things with his kids. The kids kind of understand what’s happened. My little one keeps crying for him.

“He was quite funny and was a caring, loving, good dad. He was very popular and well-known and would talk to everyone. He will be missed by a lot of people.”

Colin leaves wife Laura, children Oliver, Aaron and Tilly, brother Keith, sisters Sharon and Tracey, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, January 4, at Accrington Crematorium Chapel followed by a burial at Accrington Cemetery.

A wake will then take place at The Swan pub in Accrington.
