WELCOME back to the Haworth Art Gallery!

We open our doors to the public on Wednesday, January 3, at noon and have a terrific programme of events lined up for 2018.

Our exhibition programme includes our regular ‘Open Focus’ featuring, Stephen Ormerod, Leo Crabtree, Jane and Andrew Wood and Marion Baldwin; Accrington Camera Club Annual Exhibition and the Annual Open.

In addition we have a very special exhibition lined up to celebrate the centenary of the RAF which was officially founded on April 1, 1918 and in summer we re-visit ‘Amazing Accrington’ with artworks depicting all areas of Accrington and the surrounding townships created by our very own Artist Network members.

In another exciting development Curator, Gillian Berry, will be working on a new, re-display of mosaics and vases to tell the story of Joseph Briggs and his influence and impact on the world of Tiffany glass.

This will enable visitors new and old to discover how our world famous collection of Tiffany glass came to be here as well as forming a deeper understanding of Joseph Briggs himself.

The very popular live music concerts will be returning to the gallery commencing Sunday, January 21, with ‘The Rantin’ Lads’ to chase away those January blues.

Workshops for children and adults will also be a main feature of our events programme, with free family workshop afternoons running alternate Sundays, the first of which will be on January 7, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Even more exciting – our Stables Block and Motor House creative studio complex will be hosting a variety of open days and family events, check our Facebook page for details.

Finally, our Gallery Kitchen is open from 11am for morning coffee, lovely lunches and scrumptious afternoon tea Tuesday to Friday, as well as Bistro evenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Please contact the kitchen directly to book a table, calling 01254 491660.
