Cancer kids to benefit from mum’s hair chop

-

A MUM-OF-TWO who went three years without a haircut has undergone the big chop in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

Legal secretary Lyndsay Cook, of Lime Road, Accrington, had a whopping 17 inches of hair chopped off on January 7. She chose to donate to the charity after debating for some time whether to have it cut.

She said: “I’ve done this because it’s a fantastic charity. It’s for children and teenagers who have lost their hair due to cancer or illness.

“I’ve had a lot of hair cut off, from my shoulder to my bum.

“I’ve just grown it and grown it and I’ve thought ‘should I have it cut off or not?’, and when I saw the charity it gave me inspiration.

“It’s a bit scary and I feel two stone lighter. I would do it again in a heartbeat and I will certainly save on shampoo!”

Lyndsay, who works for Farleys Solicitors, said her children Owen, six, and daughter Bethany, two, are still getting used to it but says her partner Lee, 39, likes her new look - despite early reservations.

She added: “My partner had said to leave it, but when I told him that I was going to give the hair to charity he changed his mind and has been behind it. He likes it.”
