Who tells his players to sharpen up
we deserved was a draw.
“The pitch deteriorated dramatically and it was difficult to move the ball on the pitch, so you’ve got to factor that into consideration too.
“We didn’t shout at all of the players like naughty children after the game because they’re not going out to purposely lose. They were not following instructions a certain way on how we want to defend, but it’s not through the want of trying.”
Along with his side’s lack of accuracy in front of goal, Coleman was also frustrated with some of the defensive displays from his side.
We could have been 2-0 up before they scored. I was disappointed with their first goal because it was a bit of a freak goal, I’m certain their centre forward didn’t mean for it to loop in the way it did after he headed it,” he said.
“I was then really disappointed with the second goal as it was horrendous from us defensively. We plugged away and had chances after that but didn’t take them, and ultimately that’s what has cost us.
“I thought we did enough to at least get a draw and possibly win the game. We made more chances than them and should have been more clinical.
“We got back into the game with a bit of fortune but we lost our way in the last 20 minutes. We were in the ascendancy and it was one way traffic but we weren’t doing anything with the ball and were always vulnerable to the counter.”
