MR Jack Wilson Jennings, of Great Harwood, died suddenly while on holiday in Scarboroug­h on Wednesday, February 7, aged 90.

Jack was born, and lived in, Great Harwood.

He was a lorry driver for NORI Brick and Tile and Gilbraiths of Accrington but finally retired from J Aspden LTD in Great Harwood.

Jack was the founder member of Great Harwood Otters and was also the president of North Lancs D A Camping and Caravannin­g Club. He was also a committee member and former standard-bearer of Great Harwood British Legion. He also enjoyed his Thursday lunches at Trinity URC Methodist Church, Great Harwood, Luncheon Club.

He was the beloved husband of his late wife Dorothy, dearly loved dad of Carol, Jill and Gwyneth, respected father-in-law of Bernard, John and Ian, cherished grandad of Andrea, Adele and Nathan and their partners Graham, Paul and Shannon, and the adored great-grandad of Jordan, Jack and Georgia.

A service will be held on Monday, February 26 at 1pm at Trinity Methodist URC Church, King Street, Great Harwood, taken by the Rev G Hays. This will be followed by committal at Accrington Crematoriu­m at 2.20pm.

Family flowers only please but donations, if desired, in memory of Jack may be made at Great Harwood Funeral Service in the name of Mrs C R O’Brien for a memorial bench to be bought and placed near Great Harwood Cenotaph.
