The team (pictured top) fell at the last hurdle of the Lancashire Schools Under 15s tournament, losing at home 3-1 to St Theodore’s in Burnley.

The squad included Peter Smith, Ian Southward, Billy Rawstron, Mark Whittaker, Tony Haworth (captain), David Tattersall, Raymond Evans, Gary Lee, Bill Green (team manager), Mark Heys, Andrew Turner, A Scholes, Nasir Butt, Tony Makin, Richard Hart and Philip Knowles.

Hundreds of people flocked to the Antique and Collectors Fleamarket at Accrington Town Hall.

The picture, taken by Garth Dawson, shows brothers Maurice and David Pender with a brass candlestick telephone and Paul Whelan with a 1900 car horn (right).

Pupils from Northcliffe Special School in Great Harwood enjoyed an outdoor pursuit holiday near Betws-y-Coed in North Wales (above).

They were accompanied by staff members Jack Burrows and Sue Shorrock and spent much of the week walking and visiting places of local interest.

Our final photograph this week shows the installation of the new Great Harwood Inner Wheel president at the Judge Walmsley Hotel in Billington (above right).

Pictured are Doreen Vallis, Betty Brierley (president), Pat Southern (retiring president) and Kathleen Fielding.
