-

ACCRINGTON Stanley are looking to provide a pathway where likeminded, local, talented female footballers can maximise their personal progression both on and off the pitch.

The Female Football & Education Programme is an outstanding opportunity for young talented footballers between the ages of 16-19 to continue their academic, footballing and career development.

The programme provides the chance for players to combine an intensive 11-a-side football training and fixture programme with a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, over a two-year period.

Participants study a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.

Units include Anatomy & Physiology, Sports Coaching, and Sports Psychology.

The learning environment is immersed within a professional football club setting, enabling students to learn through a series of access-allareas tours, guest speakers, and off-site visits. A diverse and engaging training programme is delivered by FA and UEFA qualified coaches and includes tactical, fitness and technical sessions.

Elle Kayley Female Football Development Officer said: “This is an exciting opportunity to learn in a professional environment with the added benefit of representing Accrington Stanley.”
