SPEND MONEY THAT COUNTS

-

HAVING spent £2 million plus on revamping the front of the Town Hall, £2m plus on a ghost town full of pound, charity and empty shops – if you can’t attract shoppers, then you’re not going to attract shoppers spending money.

Up to two years ago I had worked in Rawtenstall for 16 years and what a pitiful place that was, but now the changes and money invested in the town make it a fantastic place to go and reap the benefits that have made a fantastic transformation, so it beggars belief for some councillor to say put up council tax for policing.

Take a leaf out of Rossendale council’s book and invest instead of squandering our hard-earned monies.

I live by myself and my council tax has arisen by £8 a month this year, absolute joke that more money should be spent on policing.

We have in this borough more than the average low life in Lancashire. I read my local paper Accrington Observer and fill up with anger by reading the sentences that are dished out by those in power to some of the low life that sadly walk our streets.

Also what should be done, if these low life live in accommodation that they receive benefits for should be stopped and told to leave the borough.

Then we will start saving money to be able to put back into so called policing, sadly that’s another story. Well and truly naffed off resident Via email
