INDEPENDENTS

-

NICK Whittaker (Independent, Huncoat)

I want to do the best for Huncoat where I have lived all my life attending Huncoat school, running a business in Huncoat and being part of many community groups such as the football club, Forum and Friends of Huncoat War memorial. I will do all I can to Make Huncoat Great Again.

NICK Collingridge (Independent, Clayton-le-Moors)

I think that my record in moving things forward and getting the best deal for Clayton le Moors speaks for itself. I have been instrumental, with help of others, in setting up Mercer House 1842, which has since 2010, been able to extend services in the Arthur Wilson Centre.

MALCOLM Pritchard (Independent, Milnshaw)

If you are going to fight for a ward you should live in it. We want Higham’s Playing Fields as a public place and it should not be made private. It’s for the many, not for the few with a big purse. I will always put people before politics.

PAUL Brown (Independent, St Oswald’s)

I won’t make brash promises or assurances like many but do guarantee to listen earnestly and speak out vocally when needed. I dislike party politics at a local level and feel everyone should be pulling together. I have practical and balanced views and will work hard to ensure I represent everybody, should I get your vote.

JOHN Baron (Independent, Peel)

Contrary to what I read in election brochures about how well things are under any political party, when I walk around Accrington my eyes tell me something completely different. Very few shoppers, empty shops. We have to get on and do something about it without having to answer to any political ideology.
