CIVIC ARTS

- LAUREN STIRZAKER

THERE is loads to do at Oswaldtwistle Civic as always! Over the coming weeks we have a number of events that might tickle your fancy, so I have highlighted a few below.

RENT the Musical will be performed by the award-winning Re-Act Academy from Thursday, June 21-Saturday, June 23.

Rent (school edition), a musical set in the East Village of New York City, is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today.

Following this on Sunday, June 24, it’s Oswaldtwistle’s turn to host the Carnival.

This year we’ll be starting on Thwaites Road from noon with the procession leading to Whiteash and Foxhill fields.

There will be a full afternoon of entertainment, music and charity stalls.

Moving on to July we have a number of amazing music events. On Friday, July 6, we have an extremely talented and highly acclaimed lap slide player, Tom Doughty, who will be performing in the studio theatre. Forbidden Nights will be back with us on Friday, July 20, with their ‘Circus’ tour – Think Cirque du Soleil meets Magic Mike!

Next on Sunday, July 22, we are delighted to welcome back for the third year running Navi – The King of Pop! This incredible production stars the world’s leading Michael Jackson tribute artist Navi, who is this time joined on stage by Jackson’s female guitarist, Jennifer Batten.

Navi is regarded as the world’s number one M.J. tribute artist and was hand-picked by Michael himself as his official body double.

Finally, we finish July’s fantastic line up of events on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28, with Treasure Island. From the team behind The Grinch, The Panto, comes this very silly show, filled with fun and adventure.

There are new events being added weekly so please visit our website civicartscentre.co.uk for a full listing of both events and weekly sessions.

To book tickets or for more information on any of the events please pop in and see our friendly team or call us on 01254 398319.
