Arts and crafts or learn to line dance

- YVONNE ROBINS

FRIENDS In Unison, supported by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust, is promoting the health benefits of exercise through all forms of dance for the over-55s to the 90s.

The line dancing troupe is giving demonstrations and offering to teach line dancing to help promote this and on Friday, August 10, at 1pm, you can learn to line dance at Haworth Art Gallery.

You do not need any special clothing or equipment and there is no need to book – just turn up. Line dancing is low-impact exercise, suitable for all ages, great fun and a fabulous way to make new friends. We also have a great programme of children’s arts and crafts workshops running from Tuesday, August 7, with ‘Busy Bee’.

The workshops will be taking place on Tuesday, August 7, 14, 21 and 28 and Thursday 16, 23 and 30, with morning and afternoon sessions available. Places cost £5 per child (accompanying adult free) and are strictly limited, with a Tuesday special offer – book a session on all four Tuesdays in August for £15. For more information and to book a place, contact ‘Busy Bee’ direct 07450 944192 or email dinkystrumpet@btinternet.com. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, 12 noon to 4.45pm, Saturday, Sunday 12 noon to 4.15pm, closed all day Monday, free entrance and parking. For all the latest information on events at the Haworth check our page at www. facebook.com.
