FRUSTRATION at delays caused by temporary traffic lights at roadworks on the junction of Whalley Road and Burnley Road in Clayton-le-Moors (Facebook, and ‘Drivers’ fury over roadwork delays’, August 3)

Gail Pattison: Why can’t they work through the night like other countries and get it done, absolutely crazy situation, took me an hour to get into Accrington from Whalley. Maureen Boughton: Should work through the night, it’s a nightmare. Maggie Mooney: It wouldn’t be so bad if there was actual work being done on it but no one is ever there doing any work! Andrea Janette Fell: Took me 40 minutes from Sparth House into Accrington on Monday! This wasn’t even during the peak times! Get it sorted LCC! Karen Keenan: Why they can’t do this overnight beggars belief. At least it’s when the school holidays are on, otherwise would be chaos Andrew Serjeant: How do you make a terrible road worse? Dig it up put road works on it and then leave it! Richard Downie: It wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad if people stopped gawping at their phones and paid attention. Every day this week I’ve seen traffic at a standstill coming down past Balti Stan when it should be free moving but is held up by a car unable to turn right up a side street because someone going the other way is blocking the junction Laurence Alexander Stewart: Every day this is a joke

ZACK Kerr, 22, from Oswaldtwistle, persuaded the government to install Changing Places Toilets at English motorway service stations after his petition was backed by more than 100,000 people (‘Zack wins his fight for ‘life opportunities’, August 3).

Linda Winterpaddock: Well done Zack, I have been following your story x Diane Adams: Zack you absolute legend x Kate Conboy: Well done Zack! Denise Longsden: Well done Zack, brilliant news x

‘BADLY worn’ section of A679 Hyndburn Road to see closure disruption for resurfacing (‘A week of resurfacing on Accrington main road’, August 3)

Lorraine Matthews: Will the pavements be blocked with machinery, I use a power chair and need to use the path Joanne Porter: About time, I hope they do a proper job that will last. Andrew Moxham: Why, when they did Whalley Road at Woodlands they resurfaced it in two days Janet Jenkins: About blummin time! Steven Lee Hacking: Only took two years Leanne Lewicki: It’s about time it was done Neil Hewson: Finally!
