FRIDAY, AUGUST 10 Friends in Unison Line Dancing Troupe - Demonstrat­ion:

Supported by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust, the troupe are promoting the health benefits of exercise through all forms of dance for the over 55s to the 90s. The troupe is giving demonstrat­ions and offering to teach line dancing to help promote this. You do not need any special clothing or equipment and there is no need to book – just turn up! Line dancing is low-impact exercise, suitable for all ages, great fun and a fabulous way to make new friends. 1pm to 2.30pm. SATURDAY, AUGUST 11 Edenfield and District Horticultu­ral Society Summer Show:

The society is staging its annual summer show, where there will be exhibits from a number of growers from throughout the area. These will include flowers, vegetables and handicraft­s. Everyone welcome, opens at 2.30pm with prizes presented at 4pm. Admission is free and refreshmen­ts will be available throughout the afternoon. St Philip’s church hall on Chatterton Road, Stubbins.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 12 Black Magic - The Little Mix Show:

A highly energetic tribute show that follows in the footsteps of the award winning girl band, Little Mix. With live vocals and full of commercial pop-video choreograp­hy, the show is suitable for kids, tweens, teens and adults alike. 3pm, £15 general/£12 concession­s. Winfields Car Boot Sale:

MONDAY, AUGUST 13 Conservati­on Volunteers:

The HLF LNR Conservati­on Group will be carrying out practical conservati­on activities on the sites of Woodnook Vale and Peel Park/The Coppice, which are local nature reserves. Volunteers will help us to preserve these special areas while learning new skills, discoverin­g the natural heritage on their doorstep, meeting new people and taking in some fresh air and hearty exercise. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15 Wildlife Wednesdays with Wildlife Charlie, from WildAid:

A variety of activities held at Oak Hill Park, Accrington. Come along and enjoy a WildAid experience to find out how to attract wildlife to your garden and learn about what lives in your local area. Hands-on activities, resources and take home bags provided. Family activities aimed at seven to 11 years and five to seven years, 1pm to 3.30pm.
