Name of Event: Venus Voices; A Collection of Stories, Monologues and Poems.

When is it?:

Friday, August 24, 7pm.

Where is it?:

Oswaldtwis­tle Civic Centre and Theatre, 155-157 Union Road, Oswaldtwis­tle, BB5 5HZ.

What does it involve?:

Local women will be reading a variety of inspiring short stories, poems and monologues which examine the subjects of love, living your dreams, overcoming obstacles, marriage, motherhood, mental health, families, menopause, ageing and self-esteem. We will also examine some of the key women who have inspired us over the last 100, with a nod to the 100-year anniversar­y of the suffrage movement.

Who is it suitable for?:

All ages, though parental guidance is advisable due to occasional mature language and sexual references.

Any other informatio­n?:

There is no charge for tickets, but please reserve your place in advance. We will be asking for donations at the end of the show on a ‘pay what you want’ basis.
