Sue Donlon: Money would have been better spent on roads and helping to fill empty shops, now we have next to no market!
Gary M Hough: Make the town a place to impress visitors, tart up the Town Hall with new lights, make the square clean and fresh looking. Sit back and wonder where the punters are. Ah, not coming because there’s little to entice them in to see. Let’s face it a well lit town hall and new shiny flagstones just isn’t going to cut the mustard is it.
Sandra Hargreaves: It’s a pity that the effect will be spoiled by the appalling new paving outside.
Lorraine Matthews: Waste of money, Could have used the money to open a shelter for the homeless. I’m not gonna be stood around looking at the lights.

And ‘The council’s Townscape Heritage Officer is in contact with shop owners eligible to apply for a 90 per cent grant to improve their properties.’ Why are people so quick to jump on everything so negatively? Jenny Kate Patrick: The guys in this shop are the nicest shop keepers around! Been going to this shop for nearly 20 years, how anyone can want to harm them is beyond me! Vile horrible human beings, deserve everything they get!
Catherine Groves: Makes me sick to the stomach, these guys who work in the shop are very nice people to know. I use this shop everyday, how would some scumbag harm them in any way? Makes me so mad.
