CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:
STEPHEN Lee Meakin, 33, of Manor Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to shoplifting. He was given a six-month community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement, fined £40 and ordered to pay £47.96 compensation.
ANTHONY Pemberton, 47, of Juniper Court, Huncoat, pleaded guilty to shoplifting. He was fined £40.
MELANIE Sutcliffe, 44, of Cedar Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to drink driving. She was fined £436, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 12 months, reduced by 13 weeks if she completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
LEE Hepple, 29, of Ormerod Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assault by beating while subject to a suspended sentence order. He was given a 12-month restraining order, fined £162 and his suspended sentence order was varied to include an extra five-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
SIMON Henry Douglas, 47, of Longsight Road, Balderstone, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating in Accrington. He was given a 15-month community order with a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £300 and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £300 costs.
JOHN Crabtree, 65, of Lonsdale Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to shoplifting. He was given a three-month community order with an exclusion requirement not to enter Wilko Stores and ordered to pay £85 costs.
COLIN Gordon, 52, of Dowry Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to shoplifting while subject to a conditional discharge. He was given a six-month community order with a 28-day curfew requirement, a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to pay £25 compensation and £85 costs.
FIRST Choice Waste & Metals Limited, of Moss Lane, Macclesfield, was found guilty in its absence of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver in Clayton-le-Moors to police. The company was fined £770 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
