Connor so close to Accy dream debut

-

CONNOR Hall admits he was agonisingly close to making a dream debut for Accrington Stanley after he almost scored during the 1-1 draw at home to Burton Albion on Saturday.

Hall joined Stanley on loan from Bolton Wanderers during the final minutes of the summer transfer window, and he came off the bench in the second half against Burton over the weekend.

He almost marked his appearance with a goal, and he has been happy with how he has settled in at the Wham Stadium.

“My shot was so close. From the angle I was watching it I thought it was going in, just creeping in the corner, but then it curled out at the last minute and hit the post. It would have been a dream debut,” he told the club’s official website.

“I love it, it’s a good club. I’m getting on well with all the boys and getting on well with the coaching staff as well.

“I had a feeling this week that I wasn’t going to start, so I worked hard and tried to earn a place on the bench which I did.

“Against a team like Burton, obviously relegated last year from the Championship, it was always going to be a tough test. I feel like coming on to help the boys get a point was good.

“I had one or two chances myself which hopefully I’ll put away next week, but we did well and showed good character to come back from 1-0 down and I thought I put in a good shift.”
