Time for charity cuppa and cake

IT’S that time of year again to grab a cuppa and a slice of cake in aid of a cancer charity.

Events will take place throughout the coming weeks to mark the annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

The official date – when many coffee mornings will be held is Friday, September 28.

A Macmillan fundraiser will be held from 11am to 2pm on Friday, September 28 at The Black Dog Inn & Le Petit Bistro Catering, Union Road, Oswaldtwis­tle.

There will be freshly baked cakes and tea/coffee. Bring friends, relatives, children and anyone who may just want to come and have a friendly chat. RSVP elaine. ainsworth@hotmail.com

There will be cake and second hand books galore at The Feelgood Suite and Refresh Food & Drink at Hyndburn Leisure Centre, on Henry Street in Church.

The fundraiser will be held from 9am to noon on Friday, September 28.

Organisers say please bring cake or come and buy some of theirs.

McKenna Motors, on Burnley Road, Accrington, is hosting a Macmillan Tea Party from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, September 29,

Guests are welcome to bring a cake or something yummy to share (homemade or bought). RSVP: mckenna.motors@ outlook.com.

An all-day event will be held at Mortimers, on Blackburn Road, Accrington, from 10am to 4pm on Friday, September 28.

Organisers say: “Please come on in and join us for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. There will be a stall available all day with lots of cakes and biscuits.

All we ask is for a small donation, there will also be tea and coffee available. We look forward to seeing you in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.” RSVP to mduckett@ mortimers -property.co.uk.

A Game Cock Carvery Coffee Morning will be held from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, September 29 at The Gamecock Inn, on Whalley Road in Great Harwood.

A MacMillan afternoon tea with entertainm­ent will take place on Wednesday, October 17 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Woodlands Home for the Elderly, on Warwick Avenue, Clayton-le-Moors. RSVP to lainey nic4@gmail.com.
