Yob in eye gouge threat

AYOUNG man who bombarded two people with ‘vile and disgusting’ Facebook messages has avoided jail.

Jake Thomas Halleron, from Accrington, contacted the victims and threatened to ‘spoon out’ their eyes.

He also said he would pour hot water mixed with sugar on one of their girlfriends to ‘slowly melt’ her and then cut off her pony tail and make her eat it, a court heard.

Prosecutor Francis McEntee told Burnley Crown Court that the messages were sent over a one hour period between July 2 and 3 this year.

Halleron, 20, also made repeated calls on a withheld number despite both of the men asking him to stop.

Mr McEntee said the Facebook messages ‘ suggested he can’t stop himself’ and that he wasn’t bothered’ if police were contacted.

One message said: “I have to finish this. I don’t care about the police. I don’t. If I do get s*** on I will come back and I’ll do worse. I have to do this. I have to hurt you all.”

Another message said: “I will, watch. I’m coming for you all.”

The court heard how police were contacted shortly before 1am on July 3 and the messages ‘clearly had an impact’ on the victims.

Halleron, of Belfield Road, pleaded guilty to harassment and sending malicious electronic communications.

He was given a fourmonth jail sentence, suspended for 18 months with a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a one-month restraining order.

Anna Chesnutt, defending, said Halleron is ‘genuinely apologetic’ and needs ‘targeted, sustained contact’ with the probation service to address ‘concerning issues’.

She told the court: “Mr Halleron doesn’t have control over his own emotions and own behaviour which has led him to behave in this way.”

Judge Andrew Jefferies QC said he was ‘just about persuaded’ to suspend the prison sentence.

He said: “The messages you sent were sent vile and disgusting.

“They were not treated as a joke by the recipients because they phoned the police.

“They were scared about the threats you were making.

“I take a very serious view of these offences.

“I am also concerned and troubled by what I have read about your irrational and erratic behaviour. It’s worrying.”
