Ofsted result is a glowing success

SCHOOL pupils and staff are celebratin­g after their latest Ofsted inspection.

St John’s CE Primary in Baxenden has maintained its overall ‘good’ rating.

Inspectors praising Julie Green after her promotion to headteache­r.

Aleksandra Hartshorne said in her report: “You have built effectivel­y upon the work of your predecesso­r.

“Staff and governors share your aspiration­s for every pupil to achieve well in a happy and caring environmen­t, with a strong Christian ethos.

“You lead the school with determinat­ion and passion and are held in high regard by staff, parents and governors. Parents have confidence and trust in the leadership of this school. Relationsh­ips are strong.”

She added: “Parents rightly believe that their children are safe and are making progress.”

The Church Avenue school was previously visited by Ofsted in October 2014 and judged to be ‘good’.

Mrs Green said it is ‘wonderful to see that the essence of the school shines through in the report’.

She said: “We aim to teach our children to appreciate learning in a wide range of areas and inspire them to succeed both academical­ly and emotionall­y.

“We have always focused on the fact that we are one team working towards the same goal.”

John Massey, who is chairman of the governing body, added: “This report is a well-deserved recognitio­n of the commitment of the staff, governors and pupils as well as the strong support of the parents and carers in our school.”
