1ST OSWALDTWIS­TLE GIRLS’ BRIGADE

MEMBERS of 1st Oswaldtwis­tle Girls’ Brigade held their annual display and awards presentati­on at Rhyddings Methodist Church Oswaldtwis­tle.

The ceremony was performed in front of their families, friends and many past leaders who came along to show their support.

The n-vestigate members, aged four to seven, acted out the story of the Little Red Hen before playing build a beaker game with their dads having a go.

This ended in fits of laughter from the girls as the dads broke all the rules.

The n-gage group, aged seven to 10, then showed off their motivation game which they had been taught while learning about Moses being motivated by God.

The n– counta and n-spire group did a drama based on modern day before relating it to bible stories to demonstrat­e the link.

Everyone joined in company march to The Breaking of the Dawn by Stuart Townsend.

This was followed by the girls receiving the awards which they have gained through out the year by North Lancashire Girls’ Brigade Chaplin Rev Louise Makin.

NORTH LANCASHIRE GIRLS’ BRIGADE TEDDY BEARS PICNIC

THE North Lancashire Girls’ Brigade held their teddy bears picnic last month.

Thirty girls aged four to 10 years from 1st Oswaldtwis­tle, 2nd Accrington and 1st Kendal joined together to enjoy a full day of teddy related crafts, creating their own packed picnic, decorating Pudsey bear biscuits, games, a treasure hunt to find pebbles with different bears on them and much, much more.

A great fun day was had by all.
