Pals in skydive for Megan
TWO brave teenagers are stepping out of their comfort zone by taking part in a sponsored skydive in memory of Megan Lee.
Olivia Walmsley and her friend Olivia Staveley, both 17, have already raised more than £1,100 for the Anaphylaxis Campaign but are aiming to collect even more before taking to the skies on August 31.
Nut allergy sufferer Megan, from Oswaldtwistle, suffered a severe allergic reaction to a takeaway and died in hospital New Year’s Day 2017.
Last month both Olivias, who are members of ReAct Academy of Theatre Arts, performed musical showstoppers from West End and Broadway hits Civic Arts Centre and Theatre.

Skydive and raised a ‘fantastic’ £401.
Olivia Walmsley’s mum Joann Walmsley said she is ‘incredibly proud of the girls’.
She said: “I know Olivia still misses Megan and thinks about her every day. I am pleased that she is continuing to support the Anaphylaxis Campaign, although I have to admit I am a little nervous about the sky dive!
“Olivia’s friendship with Olivia Staveley has been a real comfort to her over the last couple of years. I am glad that the girls will have the support of each other by doing the jump together.”
An online fundraising page has been set up by Olivia Walmsley, from Oswaldtwistle, and has received £1,136 so far.
On the website, she said: “In 2017, my beautiful friend Megan sadly passed away from an anaphylactic shock.
“I want to raise as much money and awareness as I can for the Anaphylaxis Campaign to try and prevent a tragedy like this from reoccurring.
“There’s not a day goes by where I don’t think about Megan and I know that she would find it hilarious that I am pushing myself so far out of my comfort zone and jumping out of a plane!
“Myself and my friend Olivia will be jumping together. Please support us by sponsoring our jump for as much or as little as you can.”
