CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:
SAQUB Ali, 34, of College Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis as part of an investigation. He was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, with a supervision requirement, a six-month alcohol treatment requirement, a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement, 200 hours unpaid work, must pay £120 compensation and £430 costs and disqualified from driving for 36 months.
GLYNN Derek Threlfall, 26, of Lina Street, Accrington, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order. He was given a new 12-month community order with an eight-week curfew requirement, a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to pay £60 costs.
MARK Julian Walduck, 52, of Barnes Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a urine sample as part of an investigation and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was fined £160, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for three months.
MEHTAB Hussain, 30, of Steiner Street, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a motor vehicle without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay £350 costs and given six points on his driving licence.
SHAHID Sarwar, 43, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods in Accrington and possessing cannabis while subject to a suspended sentence order. He was jailed for six weeks.
WARREN Bunting, 35, of Shady Lane, Bromley Cross, Bolton, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Accrington. He was fined £530, ordered to pay £150 costs and disqualified from driving for 24 months, reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
CATHERINE Elizabeth Howson, 35, of Barn Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to three counts of shoplifting and one count of failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. She was given a 10-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a supervision requirement, a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement, a 10-day rehabilitation activity and ordered to pay £29.16 compensation and £85 costs.
REBECCA Sarah Anderson, 23, of Bradley Road East, Nelson, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Accrington as part of an investigation. She was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a 12-week supervision requirement, a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 44 months.
DANIEL Darani, 37, of Walmsley Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £346, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 17 months, reduced by 17 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
PETER Whittaker, 39, of Fern Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a six-month community order with a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £100 and ordered to pay £75 compensation.
DANIEL Stewart, 22, of Oakbank Drive, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and two counts of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement, 40 hours unpaid work and must pay £197.50 compensation and £85 costs. SHAUN Clark, 34, of Barnes Street, Clayton-leMoors, was found guilty in his absence of being the parent of a child of compulsory school age who failed to attend school regularly. He was fined £60 and must pay £150 costs.
