CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

SAQUB Ali, 34, of College Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis as part of an investigat­ion. He was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, with a supervisio­n requiremen­t, a six-month alcohol treatment requiremen­t, a 10-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, 200 hours unpaid work, must pay £120 compensati­on and £430 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 36 months.

GLYNN Derek Threlfall, 26, of Lina Street, Accrington, admitted failing to comply with the requiremen­ts of a community order. He was given a new 12-month community order with an eight-week curfew requiremen­t, a 30-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and ordered to pay £60 costs.

MARK Julian Walduck, 52, of Barnes Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a urine sample as part of an investigat­ion and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was fined £160, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for three months.

MEHTAB Hussain, 30, of Steiner Street, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a motor vehicle without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay £350 costs and given six points on his driving licence.

SHAHID Sarwar, 43, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods in Accrington and possessing cannabis while subject to a suspended sentence order. He was jailed for six weeks.

WARREN Bunting, 35, of Shady Lane, Bromley Cross, Bolton, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Accrington. He was fined £530, ordered to pay £150 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 24 months, reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

CATHERINE Elizabeth Howson, 35, of Barn Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to three counts of shopliftin­g and one count of failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. She was given a 10-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a supervisio­n requiremen­t, a six-month drug rehabilita­tion requiremen­t, a 10-day rehabilita­tion activity and ordered to pay £29.16 compensati­on and £85 costs.

REBECCA Sarah Anderson, 23, of Bradley Road East, Nelson, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Accrington as part of an investigat­ion. She was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a 12-week supervisio­n requiremen­t, a 15-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 44 months.

DANIEL Darani, 37, of Walmsley Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £346, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 17 months, reduced by 17 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

PETER Whittaker, 39, of Fern Avenue, Oswaldtwis­tle, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a six-month community order with a 10-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, fined £100 and ordered to pay £75 compensati­on.

DANIEL Stewart, 22, of Oakbank Drive, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and two counts of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a 10-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, 40 hours unpaid work and must pay £197.50 compensati­on and £85 costs. CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court:

SHAUN Clark, 34, of Barnes Street, Clayton-leMoors, was found guilty in his absence of being the parent of a child of compulsory school age who failed to attend school regularly. He was fined £60 and must pay £150 costs.
