LANCASHIRE LEAGUE CRICKET

THE Lancashire League sides will be hoping to put last weekend’s wash out behind them as they attempt to get back onto the field of play.

All of last weekend’s matches in Division One and Division Two were rained off, with it hoped there will be better playing conditions this time around.

In Division One, there are games on both days, starting with Norden’s home match against Todmorden at Woodhouse Lane on Saturday.

Norden are fourth in the table after winning eight, losing five and having two no results from their 15 matches, putting them on 107 points.

Todmorden are in seventh place, with 88 points to their name after seven wins, seven losses and one no result.

Norden will be hoping the likes of professional Sami Aslam and Josh Tolley can perform once again, after their impressive efforts in the match with Lowerhouse a fortnight ago.

On Sunday, Ramsbottom have an away match as they head to Turf Moor to face Burnley. Ramsbottom are fifth, with eight wins, one tie, five defeats and two no results putting them on 106 points.

Burnley are top of the table having performed extremely well so far this season, with the league leaders having 10 wins, four defeats and one no result to give them 121 points.

Ramsbottom have the likes of Ashar Zaidi, Tom Parton, Simon Hanson and JJ Fielding in their side all looking to impress.

Accrington have a home game, facing Darwen at The Property Shop Arena on Thorneyholme Road. Accrington are in ninth on 73 points after five wins, nine defeats and one no result, while Darwen are joint bottom on 69 points with four wins, eight defeats and three no results. A victory for Darwen would see them leapfrog Accrington in the table.

Accrington will be hoping the likes of professional Karl Brown and Kieran Grimshaw can be their standout players in the match.

Rochdale are away from home, heading to Glebe Street to go up against Crompton.

Rochdale are sixth, after five wins, one tie, eight defeats and one no result gave them 90 points. Crompton are joint ninth alongside Accrington, with five wins, eight defeats and two no results.

Rochdale will be hoping that openers Declan Wilkinson and professional Edward Moore can get them off to a good start in the match.

Church have a home match, facing Lowerhouse at Blackburn Road. Church are joint bottom alongside Darwen, having won four, lost 10 and had one no result this season, with Lowerhouse in third, with nine wins, five defeats and one no result handing them 114 points.

Elsewhere in Division One, Walsden have a home game against Clitheroe at Scott Street. Walsden are in second place, while Clitheroe are in eighth position.

In Division Two, Bacup are away from home, heading to The CDM Windows Bentgate Cricket Ground to face Haslingden. Bacup are eighth with seven wins, seven defeats and one no result giving them 93 points, while Haslingden are in third place on 121 points, after eight wins, six defeats and one no result.

At Hare Hill, there is a clash between Littleborough and Rawtenstall. Littleborough are seventh on 101 points after seven wins, seven defeats and one no result, and Rawtenstall are fifth with an identical record, though they are on 106 points.

Littleborough professional Travis Townsend and Rawtenstall professional JD van Wyngaardt will be the key players in the match.

Great Harwood are at home, facing Milnrow at Cliffe Park. Great Harwood are second bottom on 58 points after four wins, 10 defeats and one no result, while Milnrow have found things just as tough, as they’re bottom on 39 points, after two wins, 12 defeats and one no result.

Rishton are at home, going up against Colne at Blackburn Road. Rishton are fourth in the table after eight wins, six defeats and one no result has given them 106 points, while Colne are top of the table on 144 points, after 12 wins, two defeats and one no result.

Enfield are away from home, heading to Seedhill to go up against Nelson. Enfield are in sixth place on 102 points after seven wins, six defeats and two no results so far this season, with Nelson in 10th position on 84 points after five wins, nine defeats and one no result.
