STANLEY TRUST

STANLEY are once again hoping to give back to the community after members of the first team squad were announced as the club’s new player ambassadors that will liaise with the Community Trust and help drive community initiatives.

Each player is set to represent one of the Trust’s four key themes and act as an ambassador and role model for the community.

The player ambassadors for the 2019/20 season are Seamus Conneely, who will focus on Education, Joe Maguire, who will focus on Sports Participation, Mark Hughes, who will focus on Health and Offrande Zanzala, who will focus on Social Inclusion.

The players have already proven themselves to be leaders on the field, and they’ll now look to adapt those skills off the pitch and help to give something back to the community.

Conneely told the club’s official website: “It is great to get out there and give something back to the community. We often go into schools helping deliver coaching and taking part in question and answer sessions.

“The children always look thrilled when a professional footballer comes into their school and it is great for us to engage with them. Myself and three other players are now acting as ambassadors for our club and we look forward to continuing our player appearances this season.”

The four ambassadors from Accrington will be the public figurehead of a number of different schemes run by the Community Trust and they’ll also be endorsed by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA).
