CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

MOHAMMED Ali, 20, of Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to using a vehicle without insurance. He was given an absolute discharge after magistrate­s ruled he had been ‘actively misled’ into believing he was covered.

BRADLEY James Grant Coster, 27, of Woodley Avenue, Accrington, pleaded guilty to failing to give informatio­n relating to the identifica­tion of a driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He was fined £162 and given six points on his driving licence.

JAKE Boothman, 25, of Albion Street, Earby, pleaded guilty to two counts of shopliftin­g in Accrington. He was given a 12-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensati­on and £85 costs.

NATHAN Scott Williams, 29, of Worsley Court, Oswaldtwis­tle, admitted failing to comply with the requiremen­ts of a community order. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £60 costs.

DERRY Eyers, 19, of Clark Street, Rishton, pleaded guilty to criminal damage, assaulting a police officer and using racially aggravated threatenin­g, abusive or insulting words or behaviour. She was given a 12-month community order with a 24-hour attendance centre requiremen­t and ordered to pay £200 compensati­on.

BRAD Glen Reed, 21, of Whalley Road, Clayton-leMoors, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage, and was found guilty of one count of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with 80 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £200 compensati­on.

DANYEL Lee Chapman, 21, of Acre View, Bacup, pleaded guilty to having a knuckle duster in a public place in Accrington. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

ROCKY Johnstone, 35, of Easton Lane, Chippenham, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Accrington. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

PAUL Patrick Lyons, 33, of East Crescent, Accrington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

JAMES Kennedy, 35, of Beckanham Court, Burnley, admitted breaching the peace in Accrington and obstructin­g a police officer in the execution of his duty. He was bound over in the sum of £50 for 12 months to keep the peace and fined £40.

MARTIN McAllister, 35, of Hanson Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to shopliftin­g while subject to a conditiona­l discharge order. He was given a threemonth community order with a curfew requiremen­t.

SOHAIL Iqbal Khan, 22, of Clement Street, Accrington, admitted failing to comply with the supervisio­n requiremen­ts following his release from prison, and being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
