The picture (top left) was submitted by Observer reader Michael Gerrard who led the Barnes Square Methodist Church walk with his brother Peter Gerrard in Clayton-le-Moors.

A ‘get together’ was enjoyed by parishioners at Woodnook Baptist Church, attended by the Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Hyndburn.

Councillor Critchlow presented merit prizes to David Stubbs, Anne Garmston, Kelma Edwards, Susan Dean, Deborah Cox, Deborah Muttock and Elaine Cardwell.

The next picture (top right) shows the ‘Good News’ singers who performed at the church, from the left: David Stirzaker, Tracey Spencer and Karen Spencer

The photograph on the right shows members of Accrington and District Darts and Domino League at an awards presentation at Poplar WMC. They were made by Accrington Cricket Club professional Alan Worsick and a full house enjoyed entertainment by comedian Al Robins and the Jackson Maine Trio.

The dedicated members of Christ Church in Accrington were presented with a gift by the Rev George Storey at a special service, pictured bottom right.

Mr and Mrs Kevin Logan were leaving the parish to become the curate of the Church of Saviour in Blackburn.

Our final photo this week (bottom left) shows members of Rhyddings Methodist Church in Oswaldtwistle enjoying a ‘coffee and bun’ morning on New Year’s Day 1975.

Around 100 people gathered at the church and the Rev E Kendrick said they were a traditional way of bringing the community together on the first day of the year.
