Missing man is found dead in woodland

AMISSING dad-ofthree from Accrington has been found dead in woodland after a two day search.

Scott Pharo, 35, was last seen on CCTV walking towards Accrington Victoria Hospital at about 12.45pm on Monday, October 7, after leaving his car, a black Vauxhall Insignia on Haywood Road.

Lancashire Police said a man’s body was found on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 9, in woodland off Burnley Road, Hapton.

A spokespers­on said: “The body has yet to be formally identified but it is sadly believed to be that of Mr Pharo. His family have been notified.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.

“Our thoughts are with Scott’s family and friends at this extremely sad and difficult time.

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to share our appeal.”

Hayley Houldswort­h and Tracie Hamilton have launched an online fundraisin­g appeal to help Mr Pharo’s ‘inspiratio­nal and wonderful wife Caroline and his three beautiful children’ after they received the devastatin­g and heartbreak­ing news’.

They said: “We have been approached by a few people asking if they can help in any way. So we are setting up this just giving page to take some pressure of Caroline at this very difficult time.
