Top Spanish coaches set for Rovers visit
AHYNDBURN football club has teamed up with Real Madrid to offer a lucky youngster the chance to train at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Great Harwood Rovers FC will welcome top-class coaches from the Spanish giants next summer and the camp will be open to boys and girls of any footballing ability between the ages of seven and 16.
All participants will be evaluated throughout the week based not just on ability, but on attitude and behaviour, sportsmanship, effort and achievement.
Organisers say the highest scoring individual would normally go through to a national final, usually in London, to give them the opportunity to win a trip to Madrid to train in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
However if 32 participants sign up before Christmas then the Great Harwood summer camp winner will go straight through to Madrid.
Andy Counsell said: “No connection to Great
Harwood Rovers FC or any other football club or school is required. The event is open to all irrespective of ability.
“We are looking for children of any ability within the specified age ranges who are looking to enjoy themselves playing football for a full week during the summer holidays.
“The week-long training is provided by qualified, licensed coaches who have been trained in the methods of the Real Madrid “La Cantera” Academy.
“The training involves the use of innovative technologies including video technology, GPS trackers, and laser technology.”
The summer camp will run from August 3 to August 8 and includes sixhour daily sessions, full Adidas Real Madrid playing kit, Adidas football and Real Madrid drinking bottle.
The cost of the event is 235 Euros as part of an “early bird offer” for the first 30 participants and parents can spread the sum over three instalments.
