PRIMARY school pupils and staff are celebrating after receiving an ‘ outstanding’ rating by inspectors. All Saints’ CE primary in Clayton-leMoors was visited by Ofsted at the end of November and received the highest grade possible for ‘personal development’.

They also received ‘good’ ratings for education quality, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management and early years provision.

It was the first time the Church Street school, which caters for 274 pupils, had been inspected since becoming an academy in November 2011

In her report, lead inspector Amanda Stringer said: “Leaders, staff and governors are ambitious for all pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

“Leaders put pupils at the centre of everything they do. They have high expectations for all pupils to succeed.

“Pupils thrive in the nurturing learning environment that leaders have created. They feel safe and happy and enjoy coming to school.

“Parents and carers feel valued as important members of the All Saints’ family.

“Pupils conduct themselves well around school. They are extremely polite and well mannered.”

Headteacher Nicola Saporita-Clark said they are ‘really pleased with the outcome’ and that support from the whole school community has been ‘exceptional’.

She said: “Throughout the inspection our children were a real credit to our school and to their parents and we are so very proud of how they showcased our school.

“The inspection recognised the hard work of the All Saints’ staff team and governing board in making our school the special place that it is, and most importantly recognised how wonderful the children at our school are.

“We are particularly delighted that ‘personal development’ was judged to be outstanding, the highest possible rating in an Ofsted inspection.

“This judgement reflects the Christian ethos of our school and the commitment of the exceptionally hard working staff team to ‘consistently promote the extensive personal development of pupils, going beyond the expected, so that pupils have access to a wide, rich set of experiences; providing opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and interests which are of exceptional quality’.

“We are so very lucky to have such a dedicated staff team who have a real passion for what they do and care greatly about the children in our school.”
