Women aim to have a ball for charity milestone
AN Accrington-based women’s charity has unveiled details of its 35th birthday ball.
Lancashire Women are celebrating the landmark at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa in Clayton-leMoors during International Women’s Week.
The night will be hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Hayley Kay with a wide range of entertainment set to raise vital funds for the charity and welcome a range of supporters.
The dress-to-impress night, on Friday, March 6, is themed around a circus spectacular with entertainment and live music.
A charity auction will include lots such as a holiday, original artwork and sporting memorabilia, and raffle prizes will also be up for grabs.
There are multiple different organisations supporting the event by donation prizes or through sponsorship. All money raised from the evening will benefit the charity.
Lancashire Women nurture a large network of women-only centres in Lancashire and support women out in their communities.
Last year they supported 8,500 individuals within their programmes of Mental Health & Wellbeing, Employment and Skills Support, Money, Debt and Benefit Advice and Justice & Safety.
Adele Helm, business development officer, said she is “really excited” about the ball.
She said: “It’s set to bring everyone together on International Women’s Day to celebrate our 35th birthday. We have lots of great things planned, fairground stalls, live entertainment and circus acts for everyone to enjoy, all while supporting a great local charity and really making a difference with every penny spent.”
