Passionate boss swung deal for Ben

-

BENNY Ashley-Seal says the desire shown from manager John Coleman was what convinced him to make the decision to sign for Accrington Stanley.

Ashley-Seal has put pen to paper on a deal to join the Reds on loan from Wolves for the rest of the campaign, having scored 20 goals in 37 appearances for Wolves U23 this season.

He also made his full debut for the Premier League club in the FA Cup third round clash with Manchester United, leading to him gaining the attention of many clubs.

While that may be the case, the 21-yearold says the persistence of Coleman was what made

Stanley stand out among the other clubs.

“Playing against Manchester United was a dream come true, it was a big game, it’s always a privilege to play for a Premier League club and play in a game like that. Now though I feel this is an opportunity for me to gain experience,” he told the club’s official website.

“The manager gave me confidence, he sounded the keenest out of all the other managers. I felt like he really wanted me and I just have to come here and prove a point.

“I am still young, I just want to play football and gain experience and get games under my belt so it should be good.

“I feel like I have outgrown the Under 23s, I have done it for a while now so coming here is a big opportunity to play and just gain experience.

“It will be very different playing Tuesday-Saturday, I have heard it’s demanding, the players on loan have told me that, but I have just got to get used to it.

“Playing week in week out for me is going to be better in the long run. I need to work hard, train hard and get into the team and then return to Wolves and show the manager I am ready.”

“Me and Sadou

Diallo have always got on and we link up well on the pitch as well, he is obviously good in the early stages of being here to get to know people.

“I need to get to know the boys and how the team plays and work with the team. It’s a perfect opportunity to have a few days to prepare for the game on Tuesday.

“It’s a good kind of pressure, to come in and take the chance and help the team move up the table. I just want to do well for myself and the team.

“I want to learn more about the football club as well. I have heard the name and a few little things about it, I will get to know it all as time goes on.”
