GRAHAM Jones on life after election defeat and Labour leadership contest (March 8)
Jonathan Budgie: Leave him to enjoy his ‘HOBBY’ there is no chance Hyndburn would ever vote him in again, he is doing no harm, novelty will soon wear off.
Jason Anthony: Why do we have hear about bad loser Jones all the time. I want to here more about the fantastic work Sara Britcliffe MP is doing. Jones is history now.
Marilyn Anderson: He’s a very bad loser, I’d never vote for him. Too much on social media about others who won.
Elaine M Pilkington-Thornber Don’t bother, stay at home.
SARA Britcliffe and Graham Jones clash over claims new MP is ‘not at the races’ (March 6)
Barbara Caulfield Russell: Graham was once inexperienced, he is not gracious in defeat.
Laura Livesey: While I don’t like the Tories and most likely never will, Graham Jones needs to realise everyone is inexperienced at some point. Give her a break and let her get the experience. Maybe try helping her and give her advice instead of belittling her.
Tiarnan Hamill: Not sure how we can expect a woman who refused to face up to the people of her constituency in the run up to the election to do anything but the bidding of her public school paymasters in the south.
Peter Steen: About the only thing about this article that is fact, Mr Jones he started in politics at a low level. My experience of him during my time as a County Councillor 2009 - 2013.
Susan Korab: Have some grace in defeat Mr Jones, you are a grown man after all.
You talk about experience but your apparent vast amounts of this didn’t help you make the right decisions, hence you lost.
Jackie Rawstron: Another example of how Mr Jones fails to understand the political mood of people in Hyndburn, afterall isn’t that why he lost the election in the first place?
Val Roberts: Sour grapes Graham.
Sara is she works hard for all of her residents.
Eamonn Ryan: Still wondering why he got his backside kicked in the general election ... get over it.
David Anderson: I don’t agree with Tory politics (but then again I didn’t agree with some Labour policies) but Sara is the elected MP and she IS our voice in the House of Commons.
She *may* be inexperienced (as by definition anyone new to any role is) but ‘experience’ is only part of overall effectiveness. Just as Graham was held to account by the electorate so must Sara be but she should be given a chance to demonstrate her personal qualities and commitment to improving life for her constituents.
