A funeral service and cremation conducted by Philip Norris will be held at Accrington Crematoriu­m on Friday, March 20 at 1pm, followed by food and drink at the Peel Park for everyone to help celebrate his life.

mending tractors and farm machinery for almost 40 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed fly fishing on the Isle of Man, car boot sales, visiting charity shops, collecting Pen Delfin ornaments, holidays in the Isle of Man, watching the TT Races and Manx Grand Prix.

He also loved riding his 250cc Suzuki bike.

Brother of the late Annie, Doreen, Jim, Reg, Ernest and Arthur, also a dear uncle, great-uncle, good friend of Les and Peter, John will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 13, at 11am at Accrington Crematoriu­m, led by Neil Overton.

Much loved wife of the late John, dearly loved mum of Jacqui, Johnny, Michele and Jane and a devoted nana and great-nana.

A funeral service will take place at St Peter & St Paul’s Parish Church, Rishton followed by interment at Great Harwood Cemetery on Monday, March 23 at 1.30pm.

MR Robert Whewell, of Richmond Crescent, died on Tuesday, March 3, aged 86.

He was chief booking clerk at British Rail, did his National Service in the RAF, and served at Mountain Rescue Service RAF Valley.

He played football, cricket for Lower Darwen, and was a member at Accrington Golf Club.

He leaves wife Patricia, daughters Elizabeth and Bridget, was father-in-law of Stuart and Chris, and a much loved grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r.

His funeral followed by cremation will take place on Thursday, March 19 at 1.40pm at Accrington Crematoriu­m, conducted by Fr Lawrence.
