Mills to reopen for business next week

-

OSWALDTWISTLE Mills will be reopening its shopping village from 9.30am on Monday, June 15 - in line with the latest government guidance.

Bosses have been working hard to introduce a number of new safety measures to protect customers and staff.

These include pre-sanitised baskets and trolleys, limits on shopper numbers, signage and floor markings to aid social distancing, and a ban on cash payments.

In a statement on its Facebook page, Ossy Mills said: “Each customer will be greeted at the entrance and they will be asked to sanitise their hands and given advice on the best way to navigate the store.

“We will also be managing numbers of customers in store to allow for safe social distancing while shopping.

“All till points we have installed protective screens. Please be kind to our colleagues and customers.

“We hope you all understand these guidelines are essential in the current environment and you can be assured our friendly team will help you as much as possible.”

The centre’s restaurants, Bubbles Play Centre, Scoops Ice Cream Parlour and mill grounds are currently closed.

Business Secretary Alok Sharma confirmed that non-essential shops in England can reopen on Monday if they can comply with social distancing rules as part of the “careful restarting” of the economy from the coronavirus shutdown.

But Mr Sharma said pubs, bars, restaurants and hairdressers will not be able to reopen until July 4 “at the earliest”.
